North Anna Battlefield Park

11576 Verdon Road, Doswell VA 23047

Following the fighting at the Wilderness and Spotsylvania in early- to mid-May 1864, Grant continued his push toward Richmond. Lee moved to block him at the North Anna River, but in a series of battles May 23-26 the Confederates were forced to abandon the position. A Hanover County park offers an interpreted walking trail among some nicely preserved earthworks on the south side of the river.

Open daylight hours.
